Welcome to my Candy Crack app review.
Everybody loves to play games on their phones nowadays. Sometimes you just want to get lost in the vibrant world of a game for an hour or so. But what if you could also earn money in the process? It doesn’t sound bad, doesn’t it?
You’ve probably seen an ad for this game while you were playing other games on your phone or while watching videos online. Oftentimes, those ads will feature people hyping up the game by talking about how much money they’ve earned playing this game every single day. At this point, you’re already considering downloading the game to see what the fuss is all about. After all, $1000 doesn’t sound like a bad amount.
Over a million people have installed this app in hopes of earning $1000 just for playing. But is this app legit or just another scam? In this review, I am going to my share my thoughts on this app so you could see if it is worth your time and if its promises of a payout is possible.
Now let’s get on with the review.

Candy Crack App Review
Here are some quick details about the app:
- Full Name: Candy Crack
- Developer: Sophia Games
- Availability: Worldwide
- User Rating: 3.9 Stars
What is Candy Crack?
Candy Crack is a puzzle game where you click on two or more similar colored candies on a grid in order to clear it.
You earn virtual cash and coins for completing levels which you can redeem as Amazon gift card credits or via PayPal. You can only cash out once you’ve reached the minimum threshold of $1000 cash or 50 million coins in-game.
In order to earn more in-game currency, you can watch ads. And that is how the developers earn money since this game doesn’t have in-app purchases like other puzzle games.

How Candy Crack Works
The game is currently available on the Google Play Store for Android users.
The game is pretty straightforward. You click on similarly colored candies on a grid. The more candies of the same color you click, the higher your score is. You must reach a target score in order to gain a star for a total of three. The higher your score is, the more stars you can earn. This is pretty standard with a lot of match-3 games. So if you’ve played a game like this before, you wouldn’t have a problem playing this game.
Once you have finished the level, the game rewards you with cash or coins. You can then use the in-game currency you earn to exchange for credits via PayPal or an Amazon gift card. If you want to get more in-game currency, you can click on a button to watch ads. More often than not, the ads will be for other games that promises similar payouts as the game you’re currently playing. And sometimes, you can’t skip those ads.
You can see some of the gameplay from this video below:
The gameplay isn’t really my main gripe with this app. It’s that the way it makes you have to watch ads is very in your face. And that’s probably an intentional choice in their part. Any buttons that say “No thanks” only appear after a few seconds or so. So you’re only stuck with the reward UI and that big button showing you a way to earn more in-game currency. Also, it doesn’t really give you a sense of how many levels there are that you can play. It doesn’t show you a “world” that shows you your progress so far. It just thrusts you into the next level after you’ve finished watching an ad.
Is Candy Crack Legit? Does It Pay?

What the cash out screen for the Candy Crack app looks like.
Like I have mentioned in earlier portions of this review, you can only cash out if you reach a minimum of $1000 for PayPal or 50 million coins for Amazon gift card credits. (1 million coins = $1.) A lot of user reviews of the game have mentioned that it gets harder to reach the minimum requirements the more you play the game. Sometimes, it doesn’t even allow you to actually cash out once you do reach the threshold because other people are in line ahead of you waiting to cash out too. That shouldn’t happen if the game is actually legit in giving players money.

Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Fairly straightforward gameplay mechanics
- No in-app purchases
Cons:
- So many ads
- Very glitchy
- Smaller rewards as you progress
Conclusion
I’ll put it bluntly: The Candy Crack app is not worth the time and effort it takes for you to have a chance at possibly earning money. If you just want to play a match-3 puzzle, there are a lot of other games in this genre that you could play that have similar gameplay mechanics and that won’t randomly play an ad while you’re in the middle of a level.
As nice as the idea of earning money just from playing games on your phones is, it’s hard to believe that tapping on colored candies would immediately put $1000 in your PayPal account or give you credits to buy stuff on Amazon. That doesn’t seem possible, especially with an app like this. Where would they even get the money? Especially if the game has hundreds of players trying to cash out.
And you’re not really the one earning money, the developers are. Every time you go through an ad you can’t skip just to earn more in-game currency, you’re actually giving ad revenue to the developers. Because how else is the developer going to earn money from this game that doesn’t involve you paying them directly?
In conclusion, if something sounds too good to be true, chances are high that it probably is.
