Microworkers Review – Scam Or Legit?

Homepage for Microworkers

Welcome to my Microworkers review.

There are a lot of freelance jobs available out there on the internet. Some freelance jobs require a bit more skill than others. Usually there are some jobs out there that don’t really require a lot of time to do.

If you’re looking for a relatively quick way to earn money on the side, there are a lot of websites that help you find work. Since it’s on the internet, you just need a computer and a consistent internet connection. I would just like to note that some freelance jobs may require better hardware or certain programs that you need to have.

Freelance jobs offer some flexibility when it comes to time and money. You don’t have to commute to an office to do your work. The comfort of your own home is fine. I guess that’s why a lot more people nowadays prefer jobs that offer work-from-home setups.

Some freelance jobs don’t even require a lot of specific skills. As long as you know how to use a computer and follow the instructions given to you, you’ll do great. But be wary, not all job listing websites are created equal. The jobs may be easy, but there are some aspects beyond that that may not work as well. So where does Microworkers fit into all of this?

What Is Microworkers?

Microworkers is a website where you can complete small tasks and get paid for it. The website is available for most countries. It features different tasks that you can complete in just minutes.

TRENDING: THIS IS WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR IF YOU WANT TO EARN MONEY ONLINE

How Microworkers Work

There are a lot of micro-task that you can participate in on the Microworkers website. Like a lot of job listing sites, you have to sign up for an account. That process is fairly straight forward. You input your whatever details are needed in the sign up sheet. The website will have to verify your account by sending a PIN code to the phone number you included.

Since it is a job website for the most part, it makes sense that they will require some kind of verification. They do need to know that you are a real person, I guess. Or at least the details you provided are accurate.

After that, you will have to take a 10-minute qualifications test. The phone number verification and qualifications test are both required steps if you are going to work through the website. The qualifications test is fairly quick so it’s not really going to eat up at lot of your time.

Once you’ve finished all of those sign up requirements. You can now start looking at the different job listings. There are a lot. And most of them are categorized by what kind of platform you need to use. Or what kind of job you’re going to do.

I do have to mention that these tasks don’t particularly pay well. Some tasks pay a few cents. There might be some that have higher pay, but they will have more to do. We will talk a bit more about the whole payment structure in the next section of this review.

Because the pay for some tasks aren’t a lot, you have and will need to do as many tasks as possible. Since some tasks only take a few minutes to do, you can probably fit in a lot of tasks within the day. I do have to warn you that some tasks are very particular in their instructions. You will have to follow them exactly as it is written in the listing. Some listings also include which countries can’t participate in them.

Is Microworkers Legit? Does It Pay?

Because the website is available in a lot of countries, it makes sense that the payment methods you can use are available worldwide. Some of the payment methods include PayPal, Payoneer and Skrill. Those methods are fairly easy to sign up for. But you do need some verification to get payments through Payoneer.

Since the pay for each task is not a lot, it is highly recommended that you take as many tasks as you can manage. Be mindful of the tasks that may require more immediate attention. When you do get paid for each task, Microworkers will charge a 10% fee for every one of the payments. It’s kind of weird that they’re taking 10% off $0.20. So you basically have $0.18 in your balance.

The minimum withdrawal requirement is $9. Depending on how many tasks you finish, you might be able to reach that amount within a few days. I also want to mention that you need to have $20 if you want to withdraw through Payoneer.

That’s not all. Microworkers also charges a withdrawal fee for every time you withdraw. The withdrawal fees vary for each payment method. It’s around 5% to 7.5%. There’s a lot of fees happening in Microworkers. I don’t think it’s really worth it anymore.

It gets better though. When you cashout for the first time, you will need to input a PIN code. Compared to other websites where they send a code to you through your phone number or e-mail address, Microworkers will somehow send you that PIN code through actual physical mail. I hope you input the correct address. You are going to wait before you can get your earnings.

They really made the payment process as convoluted as possible. So much so that a lot of the people who joined the website left a lot of bad reviews on sites like Sitejabber and Trustpilot. There might not be a lot of reviews on both those websites. But it does reflect how bad the service is for a handful of people.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Variety of tasks is great
  • Instructions given for each task is clear and understandable
  • There is a good selection of payment methods

Cons:

  • Tasks don’t really pay well
  • Need to reach a certain amount before you can withdraw
  • Withdrawal process is super complicated

Conclusion

I’m kind of on the fence about Microworkers. For the most part, the site is still active. But with the way that the withdrawal process is structured, it’s definitely hard to recommend it.

There are probably other freelance micro-task websites out there. And I hope can review them on this website soon. Still, it’s good that there are ways to earn money online that don’t revolve around get rich quick schemes.

That’s it for my review of Microworkers. I hoped that you got something out it. If you did, do share this review to your friends and family.
