Mobee App Review – Mission Completed But Scam Achieved?

Mobee app iconWelcome to my Mobee app review.

People are often on the lookout for different ways to earn money.  Sometimes people just want to earn a bit of extra money on the side. There’s nothing wrong with that. With so many things becoming monetized now, you’ll eventually find something.

As somebody who has reviewed a lot of different apps or websites that offer opportunities to earn money, I have been a bit more discerning of them. A lot of apps, especially, may seem like they offer those opportunities. But they rarely do.

Still, there have been a few apps that have managed to deliver on the money earning opportunities. Apps like Cash Alarm and BuzzBreak have been great at rewarding their users with actual cash. There also survey panel websites featured on SurveyCompare that also reward people with cash for answering surveys.

There have been a few apps out there that lets you earn rewards for completing tasks. Apparently, you can earn gift cards in some of them. But is it actually legit? Or it is it just going to scam you? We take a closer look in this review.

Mobee App Review

Here are some quick details about the app:

What Is Mobee?

Mobee is a mobile app that rewards you with points for completing certain tasks. The Mobee app will feature different commercial establishments that you have to go to. You must follow the instructions given in the task within a time limit. If you complete those tasks, you earn points. Points can be exchanged for different gift cards.

How Mobee Works

The Mobee app is currently available to download on the Google Play Store for Android users and the App Store for iOS users. Unfortunately, this app is only available for residents of the United States and Canada.

The process of joining is fairly straightforward. You download the app from your preferred platform. The app will require you to sign up for an account. You can’t really skip this part because this is how the app will be able to reward you.

Once you’ve signed up, you can begin your journey. There will be certain locations on the map that will have a task you need to complete. Usually, it’s a very common big box store or a popular coffee shop. Most of the partner stores seem to be the more established ones.

One of the tasks in Mobee

You have to go those locations in order to complete the task. Each task will go through the steps one by one. You will sometimes have take photos of your location to prove that you’ve been there. There also certain items you may need to buy to complete a task. You will also need to answer questions.

Since it is a secret shopper app, you kind of have to be as discrete as possible to complete certain tasks. It’s kind of impossible to be discrete if you’re taking photos around the establishment. But just be yourself. People do take photos inside shops every time. So you probably wouldn’t stand out.

One thing I do have to mention is that the tasks are time-limited. So you have to factor in your travel time from your home to the establishment. You should probably start the task once you’re actually in the location.

A really nice thing they included is that it has an overview of all of your answers and photos. It’s nice to double check them before you submit it for verification. Once you submit it, you’re basically down with the task. You will get points for completing reach certain achievements. But the actual point reward might take a day to be approved and show up in your balance.

Is Mobee Legit? Does It Pay?

The only thing you really have to collect are points. There isn’t much else you need to worry about that much in the Mobee app. As long as your mission points get approved, you’re pretty much set.

Gift cards are the main thing you can get from using the app. You’d assume that they might have at least went with PayPal credits. But you take what you can get, I guess?

You have to collect at least 500 points in order to exchange it for a variety of gift cards. The exchange rate for it is basically 100 points to $1. But it seems that they went with slightly higher amounts. You can choose if you want to exchange it for any of the major gift card brands. Amazon, Visa, Target and the like.

Once you begin the redemption process, you will get an e-mail from Mobee. When you click on it, you will go to a site where you actually activate that card. It will show you the code for it. You can now start using it.

Pros and Cons

  • Task locations are easy to go to
  • Tasks have decent point rewards
  • Variety of gift cards to choose from

  • Your mission points may not get approved
  • You may not get many tasks depending on your location
  • Lack of any other monetary prizes

This is definitely one of the better apps when it comes to getting rewarded. While the lack of any alternative monetary prizes may not be everyone’s cup of tea, at least you’re able to get gift cards from places people tend to buy stuff. So it’s a good compromise.

Still, there have been instances where some users weren’t able to get their points. So it sometimes isn’t a reliable way of earning extra money. But I guess that’s the trade off when you choose to participate in something like this. You kind of have to abide by their rules.

For the most part though, the app is good way to earn some extra cash, even though it’s in a stored value card. I do hope that they expand to at least PayPal credits.

That’s it for my review of the Mobee app. If you enjoyed it, why not share this review with your friends and family?
